Plate spreading magnets are used for separating stacked iron and steel sheets. The spreading magnets are mounted on the side of the stack of sheets, they magnetize the sheets with the same poles, which makes them repel each other. Plate spreading magnets are used both in automated equipment, where plates are handled by vacuum or magnetically, and in manual workplaces, where their help makes gripping of plates much easier.
